The troops of the Duchy / Principality of Brunswick (Germany) in the theater of the American Revolution - by whose memory our little and, in his own way, "valiant" resin soldier is inspired - served as an auxiliary force of the British army in an arc of time which ran from 1776 to 1783. In accordance with the treaty of January 1776, stipulated with Great Britain, the small state of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel was supposed to send to North America four regiments of infantry, a regiment of dragoons, a battalion of grenadiers and a light infantry battalion.
