One-of-a-kind collector’s piece, assembled and painted on a wooden base.
At the end of that long, enjoyable yet demanding process of breathing life into a scale model, there comes the painting. It is the painter — in our case, a female painter — who is ultimately entrusted with the task of making a figurine come alive.
Everything then comes down to the colour choices the painter is able to make: the alchemy of light and shadow that they can master through colour and the quality of its application. Through their artistic direction, the scale model can become more or less dramatic, more or less poetic.
And in this case, we chose to entrust this responsibility to a Master of figurine painting: Arianna Cipriani, who has already given us proof of these subtle skills in the past.
In general, when it comes to telling the story of the painting process, there is no better witness than the painter herself. And so, we leave the floor to Arianna...

In painting this subject produced by Militia Models, the colouring of the fur plays a very important role in enhancing the figure as a whole.
Taking any photograph of a common brown bear as a reference, one can observe how its fur is made up of various shades ranging from black to brown and grey.
Therefore, after preparing my subject with a base coat of Titans Hobby black spray primer, I applied a second base using AK Brown Black + AK Grim Brown, adding pure acrylic black to the shadowed areas. (...)
